Moravian chef 2011
14. 5. 2011On Saturday 14th May 2011 in Přerov, the competition ‘Moravian cook of the year 2011’ took place. Representatives of our hotel, Mr Rudolf Pospisil and Mr Lukáš Hlaváček, took part.
Both were very successful and secured the lead of this great competition over Prague hotels. Mr Rudolph Pospíšil won the Moravian chef of 2011 and Mr Hlavacek achieved third place in the junior category. Congratulations to both.



Pancar 7th Meeting in Brno took place at the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International Brno
27.–29. 4. 2011The 7th Pancar Meeting in Brno took place at the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International, Brno 27–29 April 2011, organised by the Paediatric Oncology Clinic Hospital Brno in cooperation with the "Pan-European Network for Care of Survivors after Childhood and Adolescent Cancer". The participants enjoyed their stay with us so much that they immortalised it with a group picture in front of the hotel. We look forward to their next visit.

27. 3. 2011As a part of the exhibition, Kamil Lhotak or Comfort in the Machine, the Moravian Gallery, in collaboration with us organised a sightseeing trip by balloon for three lucky people, which started directly from the parking lot in front of our hotel. During the preparation of the balloon for take-off, MIDNIGHT COFFEE SESSION played live music on site, and the weather was fine for the whole flight.


Diva Awards 2010... we were there!
25. 3. 2011BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International, Brno gave the prize for first place in the category "best opera singer" to Mr Roman Janál at the Diva Awards 2010 held on 25th March 2011 in the Janáček Theatre. The prize was presented by our charming Deputy Sales Director, Barbara Vodičková. We congratulate Mr Janál once again and we wish much success to him.


49th Ball of the Hotel International Brno – Vampires’ Ball or From Dusk to Dawn
19. 2. 2011The theme for this ball was inspired by the book From Dusk to Dawn by S. Meyer. Vampires were flying through the hotel, and the guests were protected from vampire bites by nuns with garlic. The whole evening was conducted by Gabriel Partyšová. A guest of the evening was Michal David, with whom we danced and sang his hits. Everyone liked the fantastic food prepared by our team, led by our chef, Mr Miroslav Husák.
We now look forward to welcoming you to the 50th Hotel International ball, or ... – and it will be a surprise.

The World International Culinary Competition
21.–28. 11. 2010It happened under the title of World Association of Chefs Societies in Luxembourg from 21 to 28 November 2010, one of the most significant culinary competitions of the World International Culinary Challenge.
The Czech national team’s colours were defended by our chef Miroslav Husák; in a strong competition of 23 states he got a superb 12th place and in the appetiser menu competition he won a well-deserved silver.
CEO celebrates his birthday
On 17 November 2010 CEO Radim Bartoněk of Hotel International Brno a.s. celebrated his birthday. The social events of this significant day were attended by many friends, and also representatives of Brno’s social, cultural and political life.

June 2010At the end of the June the BEST WESTERN PREMIER conference took place where we obtained the BEST WESTERN PREMIER globally recognised certification of quality.





Rudolf Pospíšil – 2 Bonduelle second place in the cup
He won second price in the Bonduelle cup – Moravian chef and 4th place in the competition Chef of the Year; he works for an unnamed catering company that prepares food for F1. He has travelled the world – Malaysia, China, Japan and elsewhere. He is a specialist in Italian pasta. Mr Rudolph Pospisil – OUR Rudolf Pospisil – is a member of the team of chefs of the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International, Brno.






The visit of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of South Korea
20. 5. 2010On Thursday 20th May the chairman of the Constitutional Court of South Korea, Li Kang Kook, visited our hotel. He was welcomed by the hotel manager, Zdenek Safarik.

15. 5. 2010On Saturday 15th May our assistant in the business department got married. She is Mrs Mášová now. And we were there!

13. 5. 2010On Thursday 13 May 2010 our hotel was visited by a delegation from the club heroes of the Soviet Union and the Knights of the Order of the Heroes of Russia.

Gala dinner with the national team of the Association of Chefs and Confectioners of the Czech Republic
6. 5. 2010On Thursday, 6 May 2010 a Gala Dinner was held in our hotel with the national team of the Association of Chefs and Confectioners of the Czech Republic. As a first stop the national team selected our hotel, where the menu with which they won a silver medal at the World contest Culinary Challenge in Singapore was presented.
AppetiserRoll of salmon and smoked trout mousse, marinated beetroot and warm jelly with a herb sauce and vegetable ragout.
Main DishBeef tenderloin in pistachios, a confit of beef shin, pumpkin stuffed with pumpkin cream, mushroom and potato croquettes, roasted fava beans.
DessertHoney coffee cake with dumplings in sour cream, chocolate variety with rum, marinated apricots and apricot sorbet.

Chefs and Confectioners Republic Championship
22. 4. 2010The internationally participated 15th annual national competition of culinary and confectionery art and the fifth year of the republic’s championship of cooks and confectioners was held on 22nd April 2010 in Hradec Kralove. This contest was attended by our colleague, confectioner Mrs Radmila Čermáková, where in this large international competition she qualified and reached the highest position. She won the Rudolf Pribyl cup and title MASTER OF THE REPUBLIC 2010.







TOP BRNO CHEFS or The best head chefs of Brno are cooking
24. 3. 2010A meeting of three world award-winning chefs took place in our hotel on 24th March; together they created a tasty menu. Cooking together in the kitchen were Michael Goeth from the restaurant U Kastelána, Martin Nemec from Ristorante Rialto and the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International Brno chef, Miroslav Husák.
The idea has so far been tested only once and was enjoyed, so probably will be repeated.
Cake Making with Kometa
27. 2. 2010Seventy competition cakes and more than two hundred children from orphanages, SOS villages, and other equipment filled the ice rink in the Hockey Hall for Lužánkami on Saturday 27 February. Here, Cake Making with Kometa was held, which was also attended by our hotel. Our pastry chefs, under the direction of Mrs Radmila Cermakova, 2006 Confectionery champion from and 2007 confectionery vice champion, prepared a cake 4.2 metres long and weighing 49 kg. We chose the theme of Kometa films from 1953 to the present day. Our cake not only won the audience’s award of "the most" cake, but the main prize cake of BEST.




48th Ball Hotel International Brno
20. 2. 2010The 48th Ball Hotel International Brno was held on 20 February 2010 with the theme of the evening being Black & White, which filled the entire hotel.
Lucie Bilá sang, guests hunted for a diamond in real champagne, we served truffles and magician Robert Fox performed wonders, not only with our hotel cutlery. Everyone was very pleasantly entertained until the early hours of the morning.
XIII. Ball of Olympians and athletes
15. 1. 2010XIII. Ball of Olympians and athletes was held on 15 January 2010 in BEST WESTERN PREMIER Hotel International Brno.
The whole ball was in the spirit of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010. The hotel underwent changes at the hands of the organisers. The Interclub became an Eskimo den, the restaurant Plzeňka turned into a ski centre and the restaurant Lucullus became a hockey arena.
