Important Actions

In 1996 the hotel and its catering was participated at the most considerable visit in the history of this town. The British Queen, Elisabeth the Second, visited Brno on March 28th and the hotel became the only contractor of the gastronomic services in the all course of her visit in Brno - at arrival on the airport, in the premises of the Town Hall during meeting with RAF pilots, at gala dinner given in her honour in the Besedni Dum, and while visiting the Constitutional Court.

Hotel was the general supplier of catering services during the visit of Pope Benedictus XVI in Brno on the September 27th 2009.

14th Meeting of the Presidents of Central European States, Brno, May 24-26, 2007. Hotel was one of the most important cantractor of the accommodation, conference and gastronomic services.

Since its establishment the Porsche Inter Auto CZ belongs to our important partners. The display of models Audi 6 and VW Passat models executed on April 28th 2005 in Vaňkovka Gallery was one of the successful activities.

In 2004 the Hotel provided the meeting organised by Princess Mercedes von Dietrichstein, where about 250 members of aristocratic clans from all over the world took part. Let’s remember the Duke and Duchess of Wuertemberg, Princess Hohenlohe, the Count Schwarzenberg, the Count Thurn and many others. The Princess expressed her thanks personally in writing.

Since 2000 a very good cooperation has been developing with company Kapitol, poj. a fin. poradenství a.s., with which the Hotel cooperates in organisation of conferences for 1,200-2,000 persons in sports halls and BVV pavilions.

In 1999 the Hotel catering was chosen by Česká pojišťovna to organize their two day conference for 2,500 persons in BVV pavilions. Due to successful project the Hotel was addressed to prepare such action in next year 2000, with 3,500 participants. The Hotel servants managed to serve e.g. dinner in banquet manner consisting of appetiser, main course, dessert, coffee, and drinks. The cooperation has proceeded up to date.

In 1997 Mr. Marti Ahtisaari, the Finnland’s President, visited Brno. The hotel prepared the gala dinner, where maybe for the first time during official speech Mr. President gave public thanks to the hotel for excelent served menu. We provided the catering even to the president’s airplane and after a one hour’s flight we received via telegram the next compliment to our cooking for servicing of "crunchy-made roast duck with red and white sauerkraut and Moravian dumplings".

In next years the Brno City was visited by e.g. Luxembourg High Prince Henri, Polish President Aleksander Kvasniewski, former Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Anna Lindh, the Romanian President Ilie, and many others.
